At Metro Pain Associates, we believe the key to pain relief is understanding and knowing that each person’s pain is unique. What works for one person may not work the same for another, which is why we use an interventional approach and practice multidisciplinary forms of treatment. Our goal is to give patients their lives back, encouraging a healthy, happy and productive spirit.

Metro Pain Associates president, Gary L. Reasor, M.D. has been named Louisville Magazine’s top doctor for over three years and strives to restore hope in your daily activities by offering the most innovative, cutting edge and proven procedures to optimize your relief.

Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI)

In an Epidural Steroid Injection, a local anesthetic and steroid is injected into the epidural space. This is the area that surrounds the spinal cord and the spinal nerves.

SI Joint Injections

Sacro-Iliac (SI) Joint Injections are performed to decrease inflammation and swelling of the tissue in the specific joint space.

Intrathecal Pain and Baclofen Pump Trial and Implantation

Intrathecal pumps are implanted when all other conservative treatments fail. This procedure is done in two phases, and different medications can be used.

In 1998, I had the opportunity to return to Louisville to go into practice with several other physicians practicing only pain medicine. This led eventually to me going into solo private practice and I started Metro Pain Associates in 2004. My areas of interest are minimally invasive spine surgery along with spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal drug delivery systems.
